Guarding the Palace

Guarding the Palace ensures the security of His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince and the Princely Family by providing: perimeter security, surveillance and screening of people authorised to enter the Palace, as well as ensuring fire safety.

Each watch lasts 24 hours and begins at 11.55 a.m. every day with the ceremonial Changing of the Guard.

The guard is strengthened outside the Palace compound by a permanent presence of Palace Guards who provide security for the Place du Palais, manage the flow of traffic and tourists, and provide an initial checkpoint.
